Series: The Dearest Place on Earth
Michael White
2 Timothy 3:16
16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
Aj Jacobs is a well known journalist who calls himself a human ginuea pig. He writes books that record what he learned from outrageous life experiments.
His first and most famous book is called The Know it all where he reads the entire encyclopedia Brittanica in his quest to become the smartest person in the world.
It was a NYT best seller and he became very successful. So he read the encyclopedia but it later hit him that there is a far more influential book- and that's the Bible
So after trying to improve his mind- he decides to work on his spirit, so a couple years later he wrote a year of living biblically where he tries to follow all the rules of the Jewish law.
It proved to be a profound life changing experiment for him.
How many people devote their lives to the encyclopedia? How many wars have been fought over the encyclopedia?
But the Bible has had a profound impact on not only individual lives but the course of history.
Written by 40 authors from Kings, to fisherman, in 3 languages over the course of 1600 years, The Bible is by far the worlds best seller.
100 millions copies per year are printed and sold. It's been translated into over 1000 languages with parts of it in 3000 languages.
It's indisputably the most influential book in human history.
If you've ever picked up you'll find in it an inscription on the opening page by An anonymous author:
