ARE YOU ROCK SMART?

JESUS CHRIST enroute to Calvary passed through Jerusalem and
visited the Temple one last time. It was a time of great
jubilation. Jerusalem, a city of 30,000 had over 200,000
celebrants who had come for the Feast of the Passover. Many had
heard of His miracles especially the current raising of Lazarus
from the grave. Interest and curiosity ignited the imagination
of the masses.
Then it happened. Entering the EAstern Gate came a man of
radiance riding a donkey and followed by His excited entourage.
In the account of what follows we can learn some vital lessons
regarding our faith and its practice today. Two groupings of
conduct are obvious. One is contemptible and the other
commendable. First, the negative. I always like to get
negatives out of the way in order to dwell on the positive.
I.THERE WAS A REVELATION OF POP RELIGION
Three types of pop religion are hinted at in what happened in
the Temple that day. One related to - - -
A.The Excitement of Prophets
The people asked, "Who is this?" The answer revealed Him to be
considered just a sensational prophet from the town of Nazareth.
If Who Jesus Christ really is doesn't excite you, nothing will.
We don't have to sensationalize Him. If being God isn't good
enough for you what is? Don't try to make of Jesus afolk hero
or popular pop character. He is God in flesh and blood.
B.The Expulsion of Profit
Jews gathering in Jerusalem for the Passover had to pay a Temple
