JESUS CHRIST said "Blessed is the person who hears these words
of mine and does them."
Hearing and doing should be twin traits of all believers.
Graduation is a time when we like to think about success. it,
being a time of accomplishment, the moment inspires lofty
ideals.
As a high school senior, I remember walking a dusty gravel road
near our home in the late afternoon. The "Bullbats" were making
their last dives before night and the crickets were just
striking a tune. I knelt and prayed: "Lord give me a self to
live with, a work to life for, and a faith to live by."
Somewhere these three ideals had been planted in my young mind
and became my prayer.
As a young leader, Joshua was given instruction by the Lord.
I.INTERNAL ATTITUDE (Vs. 8) "Meditate"
How many mistakes have you made because you failed to find God's
will for your life without consulting the "Guide Book?"
How much pain because of failure to consult God's Word?"
God has kept Biblical models before us --- warts and all. The
Holy Spirit has inspired uncensored biographies describing what
happens to godly people when they fail to take seriously God's
Word.
"Your word have I hidden in my heart, That I might not
sinagainst you" (Psalm 119:11).
Keep "the Word" central in your life. Look neither to the right
nor left of it.
Don't meditate on mediocrity. Let your mind marinate in that
which is meaningful and majestic -- the magnificent.
Your thoughts are your constant companions. You are free to
choose the great thoughts of the greats who ...
