Paul appeared before Agrippa and gave his testimony. Agrippa said to Paul, ''You almost persuade me to be a Christian?'' Agrippa decided to send Paul to Rome to appear before Caesar.

It was past time for sailing and Paul tied to persuade the owner of the ship to postpone the trip. But what does a Baptist preaching know about sailing and the weather?

A great wind came up and beat the ship and blew them around for days. They had all but given up when Paul came up from the bottom of the ship. He told them they should not have departed from Crete. However, he also encouraged them not to give up hope because an angel of God had appeared to him and no loss of life would incur.

Paul said, ''I belong to God, I serve God, and I believe God.

An anchor was an early symbol of Christianity because an anchor brings security and stability.

Soldiers will sometimes have tattoos on their arms with MOM under them. Their mother is their stabilizing force. Some soldier might put sweetheart. However, if they break up, they have a problem.

Hebrews 6:18-19, ''In order that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have strong encouragement, we who have fled for refuge in laying hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil.''

I want us to look at four anchors for 2019,

1.THE BOOK

We are to proclaim the book. We spend more time defending it than we do proclaiming it!
