THIS CHILD WAS BORN TO BE RAISED
Matthew 2: 1 - 11
(PAGE 1410 COME ALIVE BIBLE)
JESUS CHRIST had a change of address. He left the realm of glory
and His regal rule to take up residence in our region of grief
and His redemptive role.
Wise men from the East came and inquired: "Where is He...?"
Currently the world is still asking that question.
At Christmastime a little girl wrote a letter and addressed it
simply, "To: Baby Jesus." The postman returned it to the sender
marked "Insufficient address."
On December 15, we received a package with the return address:
"Bethlehem, Israel." It came from a specific place.
Christmas is a reminder that Jesus took a new address. "The Word
became flesh and came and dwelt among us. Jesus in that instance
moved from Heaven to earth, entering our turf. He became a
resident of Planet Earth to enable us ultimately to take up
residence in Heaven.
The world still asks, "Where is Jesus?" Literally, He is at the
"right hand of the Majesty on high" (Heb. 1:3). As a result, you
can address your requests and bring your burdens to the throne
of grace in Heaven.
Likewise, by His Spirit and power He is here with us presently.
He said, "I will never leave you..."
Every believer should so live "that the life of Jesus...may be
manifested in our body" (II Cor. 4:10). That is, we should let
others see Jesus in us.
By observing the wise men and shepherds in contrast with King
Herod and his scholars, we can see how Christ can be made more
evident to others.
