Joseph Trusted (4 of 4)
Series: Because of Bethlehem
Tony Thomas
Matthew 1:18-25

A highway patrolman saw a car full of older women pass our church, but they were only traveling 32 miles-per-hour. He pulled them over but the driver protested: ''I wasn't even speeding, officer.''

The patrolmen explained that driving too slow was just as dangerous as driving too fast, but the elderly woman didn't understand. ''I was driving exactly the limit that was posted,'' she replied. Then it dawned on the patrolman what had happened. ''Ma'am, this is State Rd. 32; it's not 32 miles-per-hour.''

Like Mary, the shepherds, and the Wise Men, Joseph has a lesson to teach us. If you choose to follow Jesus, God expects your trust, even if what He says doesn't make any sense! Even if what He says defies all human logic!

To the world, Christmas is nothing more than a warm, sentimental story about a baby born in barn, surrounded by sheep, donkeys, and camels ...
