'TWAS NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
MATTHEW 4: 12 - 17
(PAGE 1413 COME ALIVE BIBLE)
JESUS CHRIST is living proof that God loves you. While Rome was
busy making history, God was busy revealing His story of love.
A weary world was still reeling in the wake of Alexander the
Great when the people who sat in darkness saw a great light.
That light, the light, was the Light of the World, Jesus Christ.
John said, "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness
did not comprehend it."
The New English Bible renders that, "The light shines in the
dark, and the darkness has never mastered it."

The world was in spiritual night before that night when Mary's
boy-child was born. It was as though the trumpeter of eternity
had taken his stand upon the turrets of time to herald the
coming King.
Let every heart prepare a throne AND every voice a song.
Isaiah the prophet's words were echoed by Matthew:
"The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light...Light
has dawned."
In Scripture the term "darkness", when used figuratively refers
to one or more of these three states:
DELUSION (Ephesians 4:18). The word ...
