Introduction

1. In the 1970's, in response to the Cold War, the Pentagon developed what was formerly known at the time as the Navistar. Using 24 satellites orbiting 12,000 miles above earth, radio broadcasts from the satellites including the signal's precise time determine by an atomic clock was sent to earthbound receivers which could be used to triangulate the precise location of anything or anyone, anytime, or anywhere. Little did they know that they were developing the greatest advance in navigation since the compass.

2. Today, it is known as GPS (Global Positioning System) which has the ability to pinpoint your location within 10 meters anywhere you are on the planet. Today, it is used by everyone from airplane pilots to geologists to golfers. Today, the worldwide market for GPS products alone is $27 billion dollars.

3. Though developed primarily by the military for the military, its use has far outgrown the military, because of several of pieces of information we want at any moment in our life.

4. Life is just like a journey. Life basically is a series of decisions and choices. Good decisions bring you success; bad decisions bring you failure. You are who you are and where you are today, because of the decisions you made yesterday. Wherever you will be and whatever you will be tomorrow will be based on decisions you made today.
