Frank Sinatra (d. 1988) was one of America's most popular musical entertainers for more than 50 years beginning in the 1940's. He is perhaps best known for the song ''My Way.''

And now, the end is near and so I face the final curtain?My friend, I'll say it clear I'll state my case, of which I'm certain I've lived a life that's full I've traveled each and every highway?But more, much more than this I did it my way.

Regrets, I've had a few but then again, too few to mention?I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption I planned each charted course each careful step along the byway?And more, much more than this I did it my way.

The song is about our own self-will. Our human desire is to do things our own way. The theme of our life could be summed up with the refrain of this song: ''I did it my way.''

If we want to please God with our life, our self-will must be restrained so we choose to do what God wants us to do. Our attitude needs to be what Jesus prayed in the garden of Gethsemane in Luke 22:42 Not my will, but Yours be done.

Submission to the will of God results in his blessing.
