Take your Bibles now tonight, really, really quickly. Go to Titus chapter 3. Titus, chapter 3, and in just a moment we're going to be picking back up in verse number 9. Titus chapter 3 and verse number 9, and tonight, my plan, my prayer is that we're going to finish up this series of studies, through this wonderful little letter that we've entitled, ''Our Man in Crete.'' What a tremendous study this has been.

Tonight what I want to do is I just want to share just a simple, a few minutes on bad works and goodbyes. How's that for a title tonight, ''Bad Works and Goodbyes.'' There's a guy by the name of David Epstein. David grew up in a very small rural town, but for college he moved to New York. His very first time out in town, he went to a supermarket, and as he's going to the supermarket, he noticed that there was this little old lady that was following him everywhere he went, down every aisle. This little lady followed him up and down every row.

Finally, when he went to get in the checkout line, she jumped right in front of him. How many of you hate it when they do that? Can I get an amen? She jumped right in front of him. So she began to look, and she turned around. She said, ''Excuse me. I'm sorry if my staring made you a little bit uncomfortable. It's just that you look just so much like my son who just passed away.'' It just kind of broke his heart and got his attention. He said, ''Well I'm so very, very sorry. Is there anything that I can do for you?''

She said, ''Yes, yes. You know as I'm leaving, can you just wave at me and say, goodbye, mother? It will make me feel so much better.'' He said, absolutely. So as the little old woman was leaving, he waved and he said, ''Goodbye Mom.'' She turned around and waved, and as he stepped up to the counter, the cashier showed him a total of $127.50. He said, ''How in the world can that be? I only purchased a few thing ...
