Introduction

1. In a way, our everyday life is made up of choices. In fact, various internet sources estimate that an adult makes about 35,000 remotely conscious choices or decisions every day. Though that may sound ridiculous, but we make 226 decisions every day just on food.

2. Just think about all of the choices we have to make as we go through life. There are philosophical choices, financial choices, vocational choices, marital choices, familial choice, political choices. What are we going to eat, buy, believe? How are we going to vote? What job will we pursue? Who will we marry? How many children will we have? What will their names be? How do we spend our time? Our money? Every choice has one thing in common and it always carries consequences that are good and bad.

3. The essence of liberty is the freedom to choose, although, even the law dictates that we have to make choices that are not only in our best interest, but in the best interest of others. Today, we are going to talk about the most important choice that every person has to make, because this is a spiritual choice that has eternal consequences and I believe that, because of something, that Jesus said in the last words, He ever spoke. Indeed, these words illustrate what I believe is the perfect bucket list - seven things that every person should make sure they do before they die. [Turn to Luke 23].

4. It is another Friday in Jerusalem, but the smell of death is in the air. Outside the city walls, just north of the Damascus Gate, in what might have been called ''Execution Square,'' three crosses stand beside the highway. Crucifixion in and of itself was not unusual, but it was this day, because the most unusual man who ever lived was being crucified.
