H-O-P-E SPELLS "EASTER"
JOHN 20: 1 - 9
JESUS CHRIST died on a cross. His limp and lifeless body was
taken from the cross, pronounced dead by Roman authorities,
hastily prepared for interment by admirers, and tightly sealed
in a tomb. He was dead.
Lazarus, who himself had been snatched from the grave,
languished in grief at the news "He is dead."
Bartimaeus, whose blind eyes had been touched and opened, could
not see how it could be "He is dead."
Zaaahaeus, in whose home Jesus had been a celebrated guest, now
had a home filled with grief because "He is dead."
Little children He had invited to come unto Him withdrew in
sorrow at the news "He is dead."
Well might the sun in darkness hide,
And shut its glory in,
When God the mighty Maker died
For man the creatures sin.
Death had reach a new depth. For three days death celebrated
around that tomb. On that first Easter morning, life and death
faced each other in mortal combat in a tomb. Life won. Death
died. The best news the world ever heard came from a graveyard
just outside Jerusalem -- H E I S R I S E N !

Helives!
