Weeks 40-52 (4 of 4)
Series: 52 Weeks of Sermons
Donald Cantrell
It is my desire to offer you some helpful insight on preaching, sermon preparation, sermon development, and I came across some awesome information from the ''prince of preachers'' Charles Spurgeon. He was a preaching machine and still today has a worldwide audience of fans and bible students.
It has been noted that Spurgeon often preached ten times per week and his collection of recorded sermons fills over 63 volumes and contains over 20 million words. It has been noted that Spurgeon once preached to over 23,000 people without the use of a microphone.
The following is a list of 12 preaching tips for preachers:
1. Prayer is sermon preparation (Practice it)
2. Use striking introductions (Perfect it)
3. Long sermons are a product of short study
4. Vary your voice (Dr. Jerry Vines has a book)
5. Practice what you preach (This is biblical)
6. Enunciate (Be clear in your pronunciation)
7. Silence is golden (Silence can be so loud)
8. Use natural gestures (Don't be someone else)
9. Appeal to peoples self interest (Know your people)
10. Use stories (Good stories attract attention)
11. Preach Christ (People still need him)
12. Invite evaluation (Get helpful advice)
This is our final 13 week series in this series and I hope these sermons prove to be helpful to you. There are 39 sermon outlines in this 13 week series. Each week contains an Old Testament outline, a New Testament outline, and an outline from one of the books of Poetry.
