DON'T WAIT TO EVALUATE YOUR PRIORITIES
Matthew 6: 31 - 34

JESUS CHRIST looked at the confused complexity of human life
that entraps people and robs them of peace and contentment.
Lovingly He offered a simple solution as to how to find the way
out of this maze of confusion. He said: "Seek ye first the
Kingdom of God and His righteousness..." Paraphrased it gave an
appeal for us to establish our priorities by His Divine
standard.
I.PRACTICAL PRINCIPLES
Three times in this passage He said, "do not worry." In the
standard King James the expression is translated "take no
thought." Literally, it means "don't have a divided mind" about
things. If a stream of water is diverted into 3 channels it
loses some of its force. If our "mind", our allegiance is
divided we lose some of life's momentum.
"If the load of tomorrow is added to that of yesterday and
carried today it will make the strongest falter." Sir William
Osler.
For three reasons which He well illustrated, Christ said "don't
worry."
IT IS IRREVERENT. It shows we don't recognize God as a good
provided. Yet, He clothes the animals, colors the flowers and
feeds the birds. Surely such a caring God will provide for you.
IT IS IRRELEVANT. It doesn't change a thing for the good. You
can't grow an inch by worrying about your height.
IT IS IRRESPONSIBLE. The flight of birds is used to illustrate
how He frees us from anxiety. The beauty of flowers intheir
simplest form reveals we should not seek status.
II.PRAGMATIC PRINCIPLES
