Weeks 14-26 (2 of 4)
Series: 52 Weeks of Sermons
Donald Cantrell
As men God we have been called to preach but to preach we must prepare. One must learn to enjoy the designing aspect of preaching just as much as the delivering aspect of preaching.
It is no use walking anywhere to preach unless our walking is our preaching.
- Francis of Assisi
''Society can overlook murder, adultery or swindling; it never forgives preaching of a new gospel.''
- Edmund Burke
The thirteen weeks of sermons in this material were written to help the busy man of God as he endeavors to design and deliver his sermons. I fully understand the rigors of working a public job, raising a child, caring for one's family, visiting, attending meetings, and preaching three sermons a week.
In these thirteen weeks of sermons you will find that Sunday mornings deal with the Old Testament, Sunday nights deal with the New Testament, and Wednesday nights deal with one of the poetical books. In my experience it is much less stressful to preach expository sermons and to preach from book to book and verse by verse.
If you will learn to design your sermons in an expository manner, you will soon look forward to taking up your weekly assignment and not be running to and fro, hoping to find a thought or a sermon seed. The best way to grow your church spiritually is to give them the word of God in the same format as it was written, line by line and book by book.
I hope that these sermons will prove to be successful and helpful to you as you design and develop your weekly sermon material.
