2 Corinthians 12:7-10
Joni Eareckson lived a very active life all through her growing up years she enjoyed riding horses, hiking, tennis, and swimming. On July 30, 1967, when she was 18 years old, she dove into the water of the Chesapeake Bay and hit her head on the shallow bottom. As a result, she became a quadriplegic meaning she was paralyzed from the shoulders down.
During her two years of rehabilitation she experienced anger, depression, suicidal thoughts, and religious doubts. But she came to believe that God had a purpose for her disability.
Years later after speaking at a women's conference she said, ''Many of them went home to broken garbage disposals, indifferent husbands and rebellious children. I hope that the women also went home knowing that they can go desperately and urgently to God for grace.''
Then she added her own testimony, ''I have learned that the weaker we are, the more we need to lean on God and the more we lean on God, the stronger we discover him to be. God has used my quadriplegia to teach me, and others through me, that in our weakness, he is strong.''
PAIN OF SUFFERING :7 Conceited (KJB exalted 2x) - Gk. to lift yourself up or to become proud. II Thess. 2:4 The antichrist will exalt himself against every so-called god or object of worship.
Revelations - Gk. a divine appearance to disclose truth. Paul is referring to :2-4. There is no record of the details of this event so it is useless to speculate about how or where. The point is he saw things which nobody else has seen.

Thorn (1x) - Gk. a sharp stake or point of a hook. In the Greek translation of Hosea 2:6 it is thorn. It was a symbol of something which caused you pain.
