CONTENDERS AND PRETENDERS - PART II
MATTHEW 7:24 & 27

JESUS CHRIST used the building of a house to illustrate
principles involved in developing your philosophy of life and
the resulting lifestyle.
I.THE ROCK AND THE RAIN
Debate has related to what is the rock: Christ or His Words. You
can't have one without the other. You can't have Christ without
Christ's teachings. You can't have Christ's teachings without
Christ. "No other foundation can any one lay than that which is
laid, which is Jesus Christ" (I Cor. 3:11).
How does one get on the Rock?
By dealing with God's Word as a reality and applying it.
Following His Word as a fact.
Follow His Word implicitly.
Obedience is faith. Let all the Word of God received be
reflected in behavior. For every hearing let there be a doing.

II.THE SAND AND THE STORM
These words were not spoken to people who never hear His words.
There are two kinds of sand builders.
A.Those who hear His words and reject Him.
B.Those who hear His words and reject Him.
This parable seems to be directed toward those who havebeen
willing to continue hearing His words but who are not doing
them.
Jesus does not merely solicit a confession of faith, but a
conduct of faith. He desires not only a PROFESSION of faith but
a PRACTICE.
There are many to whom the preaching of the gospel is as music
in the ears of a corpse.
