RADIANCE RESULTING FROM THE RESURRECTION

JESUS CHRIST urged His followers to take their cross and follow Him. Now one of the first to do so urges others to become "Followers of that which is good." This translates the word, ZELOTES, which means "ardent lover". We are to be ardent lovers of that which is good. It is an encouragement to love goodness with the passionate intensity with which the fanatical patriot loves his country.
No heart is pure that is not passionate.
No virtue is safe that is not enthusiastically believed.
I.THERE ARE CERTAIN CHARACTERISTICS WHICH SHOULD RESULT IN THE LIFE ONE BELIEVING IN THE RESURRECTION.
HAPPY ARE YE - Even if you have to suffer for righteousness sake, you are to be envied for still you are blessed. "You will only find peace and happiness when you have found a cause worthy dying for and have given yourself for it."
BE NOT AFRAID - Don't be alarmed. Have no fear of their threats. Vs. 17 -- If it is God's will for you to suffer for the good, don't fear it. It is better to suffer man's wrath for doing God's will than to suffer God's wrath for doing man's will (12c). If all must suffer, and suffer they must, it is best to suffer for His kingdom.
