The Real Need of Man
Jerry N Watts
Proverbs 14:12 and 16:25
Anytime something is written in Holy Scripture, we should hear and heed it message. Agreed? So, if something - the same thing is written TWICE - how important or urgent is it that we hear and heed? I would say, HUGE!!!
The writer of most of the Proverbs is arguably the Wisest man to ever live, Solomon. In Proverbs 14 and 16, we read exactly the same verbiage (and it is a message to men). ''There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way(s) of death.''

That word death is interestingly depictive. It means ruined, the place called hades, and concretely dead.
While some may take issue with such a stark statement, the truth is, we can see this everyday.
In his book - The True Measure of a Man - writer Richard E. Simmons III, opens the first chapter entitled, ''The Persona''. Someone said, ''The true worth of a man can be measured by the objects he pursues.'' Let me offer a parable:
There was once a wealthy business man who loved to be known by his accomplishments (his persona). So, he determined to build the most talked about sailing yacht ever. He began the process by sparing NO EXPENSE. In building this boat, he outfitted it with colorful sails, complex rigging, and comfortable conveniences in the cabin. The decks were teakwood; fittings were custom made polished bras ...
