Open your bible to John 6. While you're doing that I want you to think about...food. Can you do that? For some of us, that's not difficult at all. In fact, some of you have been planning lunch since the service started. Where we going to eat afterward? What am I hungry for? What am I going to have? Tacos, Pizza, a burger, breakfast for lunch. Unlimited possibilities. So just think about food for a moment: What's your favorite kind of food? Where do you like to eat out? If you had one last meal to eat what would it be?
? I've been told that there's a health-food restaurant in the northeast with a billboard that says, ''Eat here and live a long life!'' Not wanting to be outdone, the barbeque place next-door put up a sign that reads: ''Eat here and die happy!'' That's what I'm talking about! Obviously, I'm not a vegan. ? I did a wedding last Saturday night down near Forest Park. And Jana and I were graciously invited to eat with the family at the reception. We both had filet mignon. Can I just say ''Hallelujah!!'' Getting hungry yet? I have a birthday coming up in July and my wife will undoubtedly make the same cake she's been making me for over 20 years. Cherry chip cake with cherry icing. It costs about $2 to make, but I love it! I'll gorge myself till I'm sick. When it comes to food, I just told you about my two favorite things...Steak and cake. I love them.
? Have you noticed though that no matter how good the food is or how much of it we eat, we still get hungry again? Ever had a Thanksgiving when you over did it? You sat 2 inches from the table and ate till you touched, and you thought to yourself, ''I never want to eat again. I'm so stuffed it hurts.'' But what happens 3 or 4 hours later? You're rummaging through the refrigerator looking for leftovers. It didn't keep you satisfied.
