Matthew 9:37-38
To shape our viewpoint of the church and the mission that Jesus has entrusted to us we need to get outside, outdoors
I read recently that the ''inherent nature of a church is to turn inward, and it takes an exponential amount of focus to remain outward....
Here are a couple of points that we need to think about:
One....The harvest doesn't wait...and Jesus declared it was ready and needed laborers...
Matt 9:37-38 Then he said to his disciples, ''The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.''
Two... The church needs to become more invitational....The world has NO problem inviting people to its ideals, philosophy, etc. We are inundated with requests, flooded with images of invitation....
Another pastor friend of mine recently made the statement ''every time your heart beats, someone is going to hell''....
Death Rate
- 51,600 people die each day
- 6,316 people die each hour
- 105 people die each minute
- Nearly two people die each second
Matthew 4:18-19 (NKJV)
18And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19Then He said to them, ''Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.''
Following Jesus means that he WILL make you into something....And he has described what it will look like....
