A Sunday School teacher who taught Pre-K and through First graders had given this class great children teaching about God. At the end of the class, they had a learning and fun exercise to draw something about what they had learned over the few lessons about God. As the little ones took their crayons and their drawing paper, each began drawing. The teacher walked up and down the aisle asking some of them what they were drawing? One little boy said he was drawing a boat, and it represented Noah's Ark. Another little boy drew a Sea with a small path in it, and he said that represented the Red Sea divided. Another little girl drew a huge cross and two small crosses, that represented the cross of Christ on Calvary.

But one little girl drew a huge square on the paper and then had started to draw an image within in the square that she had drawn. The teacher saw that and said to herself this is interesting? She then said, honey, tell me, what is that? She was pointing to the square that was drawn. The little girl said, ''that is a picture frame,'' the teacher said, okay. Well? What are you drawing in the picture frame? She said I am drawing a picture of God in the frame. The teacher said, really, but no one knows what God looks like. The little girl said, just wait a few minutes, they will know it when they see my picture.

As believers, as followers, what do people know or see about God from the picture we present?

Some people get a picture of God from us. We can point them to the Bible, and we should. We can reference scripture and we should. When we think about following Christ, being a disciple of Christ, we can be the lens and the picture that people will see Christ. So, what picture have we drawn of Christ? What images as followers have we given to the world, to the community, even to ourselves of this Christ that we say we are following?
