Satan's Days Are Numbered (2 of 12)

Romans 16:20
In ''Back to the Future, Part II,'' Marty McFly had just returned from the past when he ran into Dr. Emmett Brown. Doc Brown sent him thirty years into the future, and we got a glimpse of what life would be like in the 21st century!
Here's a short list of ideas that were generated by that movie which was released in 1985:
1. Flat screen TVs.
2. Video conferencing.
3. Biometric identification.
4. Holographic displays.
5. Drones.
6. Pepsi Perfect.
Ok, Pepsi Perfect was less than perfect. In fact, it was downright nasty! But the rest of that list is incredible! That movie also made several, incredible predictions. For example, McFly stumbled into the Donald Trump Museum, and then he read the headlines: Donald Trump had become the 45th President of the United States! Who could have predicted that?
Another prediction was even more unbelievable. ''Back to the Future II'' predicted that the Chicago Cubs would win the 2015 World Series! When we saw the movie and when that headline popped up the place broke out in laughter. The Cubs were terrible in the 80s! In reality, the Cubs won the 2016 World Series, but who cares whether it was 2015 or 2016? It. Happened. Once.
Those predictions are included in the movie because of Biff. Biff had married Marty McFly's mother! Biff had become rich by using an Almanac that Marty McFly accidentally brought with him into the future. When you know the future, you can be confident.
We're in a new series called Unshakable Hope, and we're rehearsing twelve of God's greatest promises. Last weeks' theme was, ''You Are Stamped With God's Image.'' God said, ''Let us make man in our image'' (shadow).
This series is based on a verse in 2 Peter 1:
4 God has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature.
Today's promise relates to a seedy character called Satan:
