HOW TO GET TONGUE TIED
James 3:1-12 (Key Verse 10)
Thank you Kelly. Tonight we want to do something very
different. We want to do something of biblical proportion.
Sometimes we in a church, well, we're good at playing church;
but sometimes it is really difficult doing church. The Bible
says in James 5:13 that says:
Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy?
Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should
call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him
with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in
faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him
up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess
your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may
be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and
effective.
Though we are not there in the Book of James, we can practice
what God's Word says even before we read it. So tonight I want
to invite us to do exactly what Jesus said His church would be,
a house of prayer. Tonight while you are seated, I have invited
several Deacons and their wives to come and stand before you in
attitudes of prayer. We're going into a time of prayer and I
want to invite you to come if you've been invited to help lead,
just stand and come and stand down front with me. What they are
going to be doing is being here for you to pray for you. It
doesn't mean that you need to tell them everything and maybe God
will not lead you to be that transparent; but one thing He will
want you to do is learn to have someone pray for you. That's
one of the most difficult things to do is to have someone pray ...
