2 Corinthians 5:17
2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)?17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.? Every year I say it... I absolutely love the New Year...New Expectations, New Challenges, New Chances to start over...New...Love the word...New...Used Year? Happy Used Year Day? NOT!
We serve the Creator; trust in Him who makes something out of nothing! (thoughts of walking into a shop and making something out of the ''parts bin'')
As we walk with Jesus into this New Year, there should be an excitement and anticipation of not going it alone and being part of a Kingdom that has won! A Kingdom that is victorious!
Part of what I want to challenge you (myself included), is to look at people differently, and look at yourselves differently this coming year.
We quote 2 Cor 5:17 often, but Paul starts with vs 16 for good reason.
Why?
These two things can vary well determine yourself and others being able to move on into new things in God!
Let's face it; how others look at us can really either be a drag or an encouragement...
And how we look at ourselves can be the same!
2 Corinthians 5:16 (ESV)?16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer.
We have a habit of picturing someone in the same light...the old light!
If you don't think so, just remember your reaction at your class reunion!
And realize that others had the same reaction when they saw you...
Or the moments of confusion that happen when your child becomes an adult?
Something in our carnal nature does not want to believe that we can change, or that people can change!
Paul writes in 2 Cor 5:16 that it is not to be that way!
That they decided to not even look on Jesus according to the flesh!
(Doubters would see the miracle power of God through Jesus and yet ask ''isn't this ...
