HOW TO HELP YOUR PARENTS BECOME SUPER PARENTS

Ephesians 6:1-3; Proverbs 17:6


"Children, obey your parents in the Lord for this is right,
honor your father and mother -- which is the first commandment
with a pro-mise -- that it may go well with you and that you may
enjoy long life on the earth."

Then Proverbs 17:6:

"Children's children are a crown to the aged, and parents are
the pride of their children."

What an interesting two verses. The Bible says on one hand that
children are to obey their parents, on the other hand, it says
that there is such a dynamic between parents and children that
children will take pride in their parents. Now I know that
today I speak to some people who do not feel that their children
take pride in that they are their parents. Or I speak to some
children who say, "I don't know if I could say I'm proud of my
parents." Well, to both of you I speak. But maybe to the
students today. I speak to you who desire to walk godly to
honor the Lord and to help your parents become Super Parents.

Today I speak directly to students. In fact the key word to
understand how to transform your parents into Super Parents is
one word, "Love", that's right, love them. And today I want to
take you on a journey to learn how to love them. Love, will be
the acrostic for four key things that we need to do in order to
help our parents to become Super Parents. Love stands for
Listening, Obeying, Volunteering, and Encouraging. As we do
these four things in our homes, in the relationship between our
