WHAT REAL MEN NEED FROM REAL WOMEN
Matthew 20:32
"Jesus stopped and called them, 'What do
you want me to do for you?' He asked,"
Many wives have asked that of their husbands and somehow have
not gotten a genuine reply. What do you really want me to do
for you? What do you really need from me? Most men, because
of the problem of communication and because of the problem as
well of a clear understanding of who they are and their
particular needs, just don't know how to reply such to the
place that many women feel like the lady who wrote Ann Landers,
she writes:"Dear Ann Landers, My husband doesn't talk to me, he
just sits there night after night reading the newspaper or
looking at TV. When I ask him a question, he grunts, 'Huh' or
'Un huh', sometimes he doesn't even grunt 'Un huh'. All he
really needs is a housekeeper and someone to sleep with him when
he feels like it. He can buy both. There are times when I
wonder why he got married."
I. RESPECT
The answer to point number one is simply this: R E S P E C T
... is what every man needs from his wife. How do I know that
is true? Because the Bible says so. Ephesians 5:33 says:
"However, each one of you also must love his wife as
he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband."
That word for respect is the same word that is used in verse 21
which speaks of reverence for Christ. It is an attitude that is
a combination of fear and reverence not one of shying away, but
one of honoring and believing in and following that individual.
Men have a difficult time in saying to their wife, "I need you
to respect me," because respect is a feeling ...
