Genesis 28:12
Genesis 28:12 (ESV) And he dreamed, and behold, there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. And behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it!
I want to address the essential of prayer as a believer personally, and as a church corporately...
There is no relationship that prospers without communication...without sound...expound...Think about communication for a moment...You go into a foreign country...and what is one of the biggest challenges?
A different language...different signage...Because its NEEDED for direction, for comfort, for safety...(great comfort to have an interpreter)
So, prayer is vital for communication with God....(keep in mind the ladder...heaven touching earth)....
The disciples did not want to learn how to pray because Jesus looked good doing it!
They saw that he was refreshed by prayer, received direction by prayer...
It was because they saw that things changed when He prayed!
Jesus prayed a lot...where did he go? He was found praying again.
There was also dynamic power released when He prayed, and they understood the key to that release!
Jesus not only prayed a lot...he is still praying!
Hebrews 7:25 (ESV) 25Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
The Holy Spirit is praying...
Romans 8:26-27 (ESV) 26Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
27And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
