Immersed in Worship (3 of 3)
Series: Immersed into the Kingdom
Jeff Ecklund
Matthew 28:16-20
Guitar humidifier example: Affects everything....
Looks: bridge pulling up, neck being warped, jagged frets
Sounds: Dry wood, changes the tone and playability...
Immersion into the Kingdom affects the way we look, sound, interact...We get dried out, warped, jagged and the only antidote is ''immersion'' into the Kingdom!
We started this series out with
2 Corinthians 5:15-17 (ESV)?15 and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.?16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer.?17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
That when we are immersed i.e. ''in'' Christ we are;
1. No longer Selfish
2. Look at others differently
3. Move into the New!
We began to cover also how to become immersed!
1. People of Prayer
2. People of the Word!
Anyone take up the challenge and have a testimonial?
Next in becoming immersed....We become
3. People of Worship
Important part of the blueprint....foundational truth of a church...We become like that which we worship....the power of focus...Early church was commissioned after worship...
Matt 28:16-20 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted.
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ''All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.'' Amen.
