Genesis 40:51-52
Psalm 105:16-21 (NASB95)?16 And He called for a famine upon the land; He broke the whole staff of bread.?17 He sent a man before them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave.?18 They afflicted his feet with fetters, He himself was laid in irons;?19 Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the Lord tested him.?20 The king sent and released him, The ruler of peoples, and set him free.?21 He made him lord of his house And ruler over all his possessions,
The story of Joseph has so many components to learn and apply to our lives today...God had a dream, sent out a dreamer and had much favor on the life of Joseph...Chapter 39 speaks of God's favor and blessing being WITH Joseph multiple times...Joseph also had a responsibility to guard his future, and did so in many ways by having:
- Committed Relationship to God
Genesis 39:3 (NASB95)?3 Now his master saw that the Lord was with him and how the Lord caused all that he did to prosper in his hand.
- Integrity
Genesis 39:4-6 (NASB95)?4 So Joseph found favor in his sight and became his personal servant; and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he owned he put in his charge.?5 It came about that from the time he made him overseer in his house and over all that he owned, the Lord blessed the Egyptian's house on account of Joseph; thus the Lord's blessing was upon all that he owned, in the house and in the field. 6 So he left everything he owned in Joseph's charge; and with him there he did not concern himself with anything except the food which he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.
Genesis 39:6 (NKJV)?6 Thus he left all that he had in Joseph's hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.
