Joshua 6:1
The accounts in Joshua were real events, and also types and shadows that give us a prophetic picture we can apply and walk in today.
They have crossed the river and now there is an obstacle before them that must be overcome. Jericho was the oldest, lowest city, 1300 feet below sea level and a strategic opposition that needed to be defeated in order to possess the land.
What are the ''oppositions'' in your life that prevent you from walking in all that Christ has obtained for you?
Maybe some things that you have tried to go around, avoid, ignore, but ultimately until you deal with them with God's help, keep you from the blessing that God desires for you.
Joshua 6:1 (NASB95)?1 Now Jericho was tightly shut because of the sons of Israel; no one went out and no one came in.
Speaks of the atmosphere changing potential of Christ in us...Expound
Israel's presence now and the testimony that followed them had changed the flow of what normally happened in Jericho. Commerce, coming and going etc. had ceased...

1. You Change Where You Walk
''Christ in you, the hope of Glory'' is a reality...
God had told Joshua that He would give him everywhere the sole of his feet would touch...
Mention being a Christian in any circumstance and you will get a reaction...
Israel's presence changed what was normal life in Jericho, the presence of God in our lives changes destiny, changes circumstances in our families, in our schools, in our communities... (walk in that understanding!)
Joshua 6:2 The Lord said to Joshua, ''See, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and the valiant warriors.
2. It is already in God's mind?
Notice that God had 'given' Jericho into Joshua's hand. Much like in our lives, God is not waiting to see if you do good, He has already purposed and fashioned wonderful things for us, but there are 'walls' that need to come down for us to poss ...
