Offense Free Zone (3 of 4)
Series: Make Us One

Matthew 5:23-25
A church built with the wisdom of God understands that there is a clear strategy of the enemy...
The essence of evil, is the division of God and man, family, culture and it penetrates the church...
Harmony and Unity are two of the greatest blessings of the Kingdom of God and they are under consistent attack.
Division is the goal of the enemy and every battle has particular armaments...division is the goal, offense is the weapon of choice....
Offense has led nations to be at war with nations
Families to be at war with families
Marriages to be destroyed
Churches to be split
I want to teach this morning about offenses, being offended and how we can not only recognize, but overcome and experience the release of being offended...
A series on unity...Make Us One...would not be complete without touching on offenses...
You will be offended...
Jesus told us in Luke 17 that ''it is impossible that no offenses will come your way''...
Experience tells us that we will be offended!
People will say things both deliberately and unintentionally...that will offend us!
We get offended by very dark and disturbing things, wounding things...Despite that, we still need a way to release or it has the capacity to haunt us and keep us captive...
We also have the capacity to be offended by simple silly stuff...
We can be offended by a look, a non-look...Someone stepping in front of us in line...
The new parking lot phenomena of blocking traffic while someone waits for someone pull out....Someone who is approaching their car with a cart FULL of groceries at Costco....It's going to take at least 5 minutes...yet they will hold up the traffic! I guess you know who got offended!
Or how about the person who puts their shopping cart in the middle of the aisle....I'm going to offer a cart etiquette class sometime....
I can get easily offended! Why? Because it's a cons ...
