INTRODUCTION

I love my wife very much... And we have a lot in common. But one area where we are vastly different is in our Netflix viewing habits.

When you look at her account, all the recommendations are romantic-comedies... Feel-good dramas. And ''Because you watched Pride and Prejudice 1,000 times.''

Mine, however, is much darker. It is mostly re-runs of Beyond Scared Straight, documentaries of old pro-wrestlers, murder mysteries, and survival documentaries.

I'm trying to get better... I see a counselor once a month.

It was called Touching the Void...And it was a man named Joe Simpson.

He was climbing in the Peruvian Andes Mountains with a friend... They were actually summiting a part of the Andes that no one have ascended before...

On the descent... Disaster struck, and he fell and broke his leg...

In those conditions, he was certain that it was a death sentence.

He and his friend devised a plan... They used a 300-foot rope, where his friend would lower him down the mountain... Well, a blizzard blew in, and blew him off of a sharp ledge... He was dangling off the side of a mountain... Being held up by his friend.

He knew his friend couldn't hold on for long... So, he cut the rope to save his friend from falling as well...

He fell and tumbled further down the mountain... Sustained more injuries...

Still... he didn't want to die... So, he started crawling... and crawling and crawling.

In the span of four days... he crawled six miles on a shattered leg... And made his way back to base camp... Where he was reunited with his friends and taken to the hospital...

He survived.

Aron Ralston... Portrayed by James Franco in 127hrs. Arm pinned b/w boulder. Cut it off ...
