Romans 12:1-8

I grew up in a large family but my parents entertained lots of guests, my maternal-grandmother lived with us, and we regularly took in strays. One of Mom's favorite expressions was, ''Just add a little more water to the soup.''

I think the church in Jerusalem probably ate a lot of soup. It began at Pentecost with the spiritual birth of 3,000 converts, and it quickly grew to over 5,000 men. But, the church did not have an individual pastor because the Twelve provided shared-oversight of the church.

If we aim to fulfill the Great Commission, there are two requirements we ought to keep in mind. First, we need think differently. We're starting a new, short series called All In! We've had our first staff changes in years and we are in the process of reorganizing. We're trying to figure out the current level of involvement so we know what ministries we can provide. I hope that each of us will seriously consider what we can do so that our church can say that we're, ''All In!''

I. What Is a Spiritual Gift?

Paul reminded the believers in Rome that they had, ''... ...
