CRITICAL QUESTIONS - CRUCIAL ANSWERS
CAN YOU FORFEIT YOUR SALVATION?
Jude 1:24-25
To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you
before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy--
To the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and
authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now
and forevermore! Amen.
What a wonderful verse to describe the work of God in your life
and in my life to maintain that salvation experience. Now
before I go too far to deal with this question of, "Can you
forfeit your salvation?", I first of all need not to assume
that everybody understands what salvation really means. When
asked, "Are you saved?", what does that mean?
I'm reminded of the old story of the man who wanted to witness
to a man in a neighborhood. He went to the door, knocked, and
a man came to the door and he said, "Hi, I'm Joe Blow, and I
just want to know, are you a Christian?" He said, "No, we're
the Joneses, the Christians live right down the street." He
said, "You don't understand," he said, "Are you lost?" He
said, "No man, I know exactly where I am, I've lived here for
years." Getting all frustrated, he looked at him and said
again, "Are you ready for the judgment day?" Then, the guy
looked at him and said, "When is it going to be?" The man
responded with great joy knowing that maybe this was the key he
could really communicate with the guy, "I don't know, it could
be today, it could be tomorrow." The man looked at him and
said, "Man, whatever you do don't tell my wife, she'll want to
go both days."
