Series: Worship in Heaven

Revelation 5:6-10
John 3:16 is maybe the most familiar verse in the whole Bible. God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
We tend to think that because God loved us saved us from our sins and while that is true, God that is not the only reason he saved us.
John MacArthur - ''The foundation upon which true worship is based is redemption. In the grand scheme of redemption, one of the principle things God is doing is transforming sinners into worshipers.''
John 4:23 Jesus told the woman at the well, ''True worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.''
God desires that those whose sins have been forgiven worship Him by acknowledging that he was the one who saved them.
LAMB SLAIN :6 Lamb - a person from the tribe of Judah and family of David (:5). Matthew 1:20-21 The angel said, ''Joseph, son of David . . . Mary will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.''
Jesus is referred to as a lamb just once in the OT: Isaiah 53:7 Like a lamb that is lead to the slaughter.
He is referred to as a lamb four times in the NT: John 1:29,36 Behold, the lamb of God. Acts 8:32 Philip quotes Isaiah 53:7. I Peter 1:19 A lamb without spot or blemish.
But in the book of Revelation Christ is referred to as a Lamb 31x because the emphasis is on his death so we could be forgiven. This lamb was standing on his feet which is what you would expect, except for the fact that it looked like it had been killed.
MacArthur - ''The scars from the deadly wound this Lamb received were clearly visible, yet he was alive. Though demons and wicked men conspired against him and killed him, he rose from the dead, defeating and triumphing over his enemies.''
Seven - is the number of completeness ...
