Psalm 107:9

Jesus said to them, ''I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.'' (John 6:35)

For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things. (Psalm 107:9)

There is a hunger in every human heart that cannot be satisfied with anything this world has to offer. We've been created by God (we didn't evolve over millions of years from an ape) and He made us all with a hole in our heart that only He can fill. I remember right before we came to the Lord in 1983, Gerri and I began to ask questions. We were searching. Our search was the result of two things: 1) we weren't satisfied in life (nothing could fill that hole in our hearts), and 2) we weren't really sure of our eternal destiny (we started wondering about life after death after my dad had a heart attack).

Who do you surrender to? In war, it is someone who is defeating you. There is a realization that you can't fight it any longer, so you relinquish control and surrender it ALL to Jesus. Even as a Christian, we must continually cast our cares upon Him - giving it all to Him, our cares, our worries, our fears. ...
