We celebrate today not a religion or a personality, or a club of people with the same belief system. Today we celebrate LIFE. We celebrate the One who IS LIFE, who died for us on the cross and rose on the third day, the One who is alive and here with us right now. We celebrate Jesus and the EVERLASTING LIFE He purchased for us 2000 years ago and the NEW LIFE that He has brought us through His RESURRECTION.

Here is our key scripture for today's message:

Colossians 1:13 For He has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, 14 who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.

Today and every day, we celebrate lives that have been rescued, saved, transformed, and changed forever simply by putting their trust in Jesus and letting Him ''take the wheel'' of their lives, take ownership of all they are, and be the Lord and Master of their hearts. When we turn our lives over to Jesus, not only does He forgive us and rescue us from the messes we've made of things, but He makes something so beautiful of our lives. If you stick around this church long enough, you will hear story after story of people whose lives have been forever changed by the Power of God. And now in response to His great love for us, and the clear evidence of His presence in our lives, we want to know Him more, we want to pursue Him, we want to love like He loves, we want to live lives that bring Him glory and honor, we count our accomplishments and successes (as good as they are) as nothing compared to knowing Him. Like we sang in our time of worship:

The greatest of my crowns mean nothing to me now

For I counted up the cost and all my wealth is in the cross.
