John 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. 32 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.'' 33 This He said, signifying by what death He would die.

A King on a cross? If Jesus is a King, where is the pomp and circumstance? Even to the disciples this made no sense. But JESUS HAD TO DIE. If Jesus didn't follow through in full obedience to the Father, there would have been no redemption for humankind. We would all still be lost in our sins.

For we were all born in sin. We inherited our sin nature (our natural rebellion against God) from Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve sinned which caused the great divide between us and God. After Adam and Eve sinned, they HID FROM GOD. SIN CAUSES SEPARATION.

We too were separated from God because of our sin. Sin caused the separation. Sin continues to separate. It separates people from God. It separates people from people. People can't get along, people can't agree. People groups and clicks, political parties and personal agendas. Even in the church, DISUNITY, division, strife, envy, jealousy. Disunity can be defined like a team of horses that are all tied together running in different directions. Each wanting to accomplish what they think is most important. Rather than working together to all go in the same direction. These horses don't have to look the same. Some can be smaller than others. They don't have to be the same color or the same gender. They just are running in the same direction.

Jesus broke down the middle wall. Jesus destroyed the separation. We are ONE IN HIM. Unified with a single purpose, to RUN TO HIM in the same direction. Jesus bridged the gap. The God-man was suspended between heaven and earth to bridge the gap between man and God. When Jesus went to the cross, He paid the price to ...
