In the church I was raised in, there was a crucifix with Jesus hanging on it. It was probably a pretty expensive piece of artwork or handiwork. While I could appreciate the place that it had in that particular church, it didn't make sense to me that they wanted to highlight Jesus still being on the cross. We know He died on the cross, but it didn't stop there. He rose on the third day and is no longer there but here (pointing to my heart). Now I have come to learn over the past 34 years, that Jesus is no longer on the cross, He is no longer in the grave, He is risen and ascended to the Right Hand of the Father and He has poured out His Spirit on the church to carry out His work in the earth. We as the church are the Ecclesia or CALLED OUT ONES from every tribe, kindred, and tongue and brought into the Body of Christ to proclaim the praises of the Lord Jesus!

THE CROSS HAS BEEN APPLIED TO MY LIFE and now because of the cross I am forgiven, washed, cleansed, justified, righteous, worthy, ransomed, rescued, redeemed, saved, healed, and delivered!

We are living in the Resurrection. I have a brand new life. Because Jesus rose, I have risen from death to life. I am born again. But we can't forget about the cross. Because I am not exempt from sin, every day, I need to be forgiven, washed and cleansed of my sins. Every day I need to apply the cross to the way that I respond to life's struggles. Every day, I must pick up my cross and follow Him.

Luke 9:23 Then He said to them all, ''If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

THAT'S WHY I MUST KEEP THE CROSS CENTRAL IN MY PERSONAL WALK WITH JESUS, AND AS A CHURCH, CORPORATELY, WE NEED TO KEEP THE CROSS CENTRAL, because from that place where our victory began.
