The Me God Sees (3 of 3)
Series: Attitude of Expectation
Lenny Ports
Matthew 22:37

We are now in week 3 of the sermon series ATTITUDE OF EXPECTATION. In week one we talked about our expectation of God, how we are to LIVE in the place of expecting God to move in our lives. Last week we talked about expectations of others and how we can easily fall into the fear of man when it comes to what others expect of us. This week I want to talk about the expectations we put on ourselves and how we view ourselves.

I have found in my own life that when it comes to disappointing other people and how we react to it, if I was honest with myself, I am not necessarily angry at those that pointed out my fault, I am angry at myself for disappointing them and not being the man that I should have been.

We disappoint ourselves all the time. We judge others based on their actions and we judge ourselves based on our intentions but 9 times out of 10 we know that we fell short. We know that we disappointed someone else and in doing so we have disappointed ourselves.

We have been talking about the great commandment which is to LOVE.

Matthew 22:37 Jesus said to him, '''You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it ...
