Day 351 December 17 Part 1 - Titus 1, 2, and 3

The book of Acts does not record the ministry of Paul and Titus on the island of Crete. The book of Acts does not record every move that occurred within the life of those that blazed the gospel trail in the early days of the church. The ''Pastoral Epistles'' is a trilogy of two men that received three letters from the apostle Paul. These three epistles are strictly written to Timothy and Titus, who were spiritual sons of the apostle Paul. It is very important that churches elect the right leaders that will lead the church from a spiritual perspective, one that is doctrinally sound and led by the Holy Spirit.

Point to Ponder

The church that was located in Crete was lacking in ecclesiastical organization and Paul left Titus behind to set things in order. There is no acceptable reason in our current age for a church to not be set up properly according to the appointed guidelines that we are given in the books of Timothy and Titus. The church does not have the freedom to appoint an elder or a pastor that does not meet the proper criteria. The books of Timothy and Titus give us clear mandates on the selection of ''Pastors and Deacons'' along with ''Pastors Wives and Deacons Wives.'' The church best remember that when you pick the man you also get his wife and his children. If the pastor does not meet the criteria then he disqualifies himself and the same can be said of his wife, his children and the deacon, his wife, and the life of his children.
