Legendary entertainer Frank Sinatra said:

''You only go around once, but if you play your cards right, once is enough.'' I know this may be shocking to some of you, but the Bible disagrees with Frank. You don't only go around once. You actually go around twice. The Bible adamantly proclaims there is life after death. There is something beyond the grave. This life isn't all there is! In fact, 1 Corinthians 15 is an entire chapter assuring us resurrection from the dead is real.

Here is what Paul wants us to understand today in 1 Corinthians 15:29-34:

*What you believe about the resurrection changes the way you LIVE and DIE. V29-34 (READ).

Paul contrasts two life scenarios. The first scenario is how you ought to live if you do only go around once; if there is no life after death. He contrasts that with a second life of how you should live is there is life after death; if you not only go around once, but twice. Why? Because what you believe about the resurrection changes how you live and how you die. So let's look at these contrasted lives. If you only go around ONCE...



CONVERSION IS STUPID.

Converting to Christ, believing the Gospel and living for Jesus is a really bad idea if this life is all there is.

V29, ''Now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them?'' After reading that verse how many of you are glad I have to explain this verse and not you? One commentary listed over 40 different interpretations of this verse. So if you'll be patient, I'll give you each one right now. Ha! No. It is a tough verse though.
