Isaiah 38:15-16
Gratitude is an attitude of thankfulness toward the person who blessed us by doing us a favor or something we could not do. We should be grateful to God for all of his blessings to us. We can never thank him enough for all he has done for us.
Psalm 103:1-4 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases . . . who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy.
In 2007 Rarthna Reth, a refugee from Cambodia20 years earlier, returned to West Linn (Oregon) Lutheran Church, whose members provided, housing, jobs, food, tutoring, and household good to him and 12 other family members.
He returned to bless the church which had taken care of him and his family back then. Reth, who was only 14 then was now 34 and worked in Silicon Valley, donated a check for $10,000 to the church. Across it he wrote, ''In gratitude to God for everything.''
Hezekiah had the same gratitude to God when he was healed of his infection and promised he would live another 15 years. Overwhelmed by God's goodness to him he expresses his thanks
in words which he wrote down as a lasting thanks to God.
