Intro: I want you to take your Bibles now this morning, and I want you to go ahead and be finding your place at Proverbs 18:24 if you will. Proverbs chapter 18, beginning in verse number 24 as we continue here in our series of messages that we have entitled, “A Real Look at Real Love For Real Life.” A real look at real love for real life. And really what we are doing here in this series of messages is simply taking a biblical look at some of the areas that matter most in our lives. For example, last week we took a look at your family. And what did we find there? Well, we found that husbands are to fear the Lord. Wives are to be fruitful in the Lord. Children are to follow the Lord, and as a result of all that, God promises that there will be a future by the Lord.
ILLUS: I heard about three men that were waiting in that pressure cooker we call a delivery waiting room. And all of a sudden, the nurse came in, and she looked at one of the men and she said, “Congratulations, you’re wife just gave birth to twins!” The guy got this great big smile on his face, and he said, “Man, what a coincidence, I play for the Twins.” About fifteen minutes went by and again, the nurse came in, looked at another one of the guys and said, “Congratulations, you’re wife just gave birth to triplets!” And of course, this guy got a big smile on his face and said, “I don’t believe it, I work for 3M.” Well, about this time, the third guy, jumps up out of his seat, bursts through those doors, takes off running down the hall, and about half-way down the hall one of the nurses catches him and says, “Where in the world are you going?” And he looked back at that nurse and said, “I’ve got to get out of here, I work for Books-a-million.”
