It's Galatians 2:20 - look in your Bible or if you want to use your outline, it's in the second verse under #2 in your outline. Galatians 2:20. Let's read it aloud together:
"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me."
Let's pray together. Lord, I thank you for this scripture--for how profound it is. For how simple it seems to read but yet this is a lifetime of experience learning to be crucified with Christ so that He can be alive in us.Teach us today more of what this profound scripture means in its simplicity. Help us to get a grip on it so that we can not only intellectually understand it but so that we can ruthlessly apply it to our own lives. In Jesus Name. Amen.
Sometime somebody will ask me "Is there a single verse of scripture that I can look at that will put in a capsule the Christian faith and what it's all about?" This is one of those verses of scripture this morning:
Galatians 2:20. And as we go through this message, this is foundational Christianity. If you are interested in the essence of what Christianity is all about, this is it. And the truth at the top of your outline is The Empowered Life. How does a person experience Christ in his life on a daily ongoing basis so spiritual vitality and life and power is there? And the truth is the empowered life is the exchanged life. And that term or principle is throughout the scripture. We're going to look a number of verses of scripture that teach us this truth this morning so that we can understand it and apply it to our lives. The exchanged life.
