Last week, love with words. The importance of what we say to one another when it comes to our relationships.
This week, what it means to love with delight and physical presence. It seems to me a big thing that comes across if you consider whole book of Song of Solomon is that this is love story about two people who really enjoy one another. Who delight in each other.
And it feels like a story of two people whose delight in each other is very much a physical delight in each other, of physical being with each other.
So, look at each of these today. First, what it means to delight and enjoyment in relationships, specifically our marriage and church relationships. And then second, how that delight is expressed in being physically present with other.
So, delight in the Song of Solomon. From the first chapter. Song of Solomon 1:2-3 - 2...For your love is better than wine; 3 your anointing oils are fragrant; your name is oil poured out;
In Song of Solomon they talk a lot about their relationship. And when it comes to describing their relationship, they use imagery that of delight and enjoyment.
This couple doesn't say, ''Our relationship is like nice set of tools that really functions and work well.'' ''Our relationship is like nicely landscaped, put together lawn.''
I mean, would be good if they said that. Who doesn't want something that functions and works well, that is nicely put together. They say more than that. It's about more than that. What they go with is things like wine, in fact they say that their relationship feels like somethin ...
