Today, 3 part sermon series in Song of Solomon. Now, those of you who been with us for least year might be thinking, “Didn’t we do Song of Solomon last year around this time?”

And if you thinking that, then you correct. We did go through this book last year. But I’ve for little while felt like some books of Bible, worth preaching over again. Just like Bible reading, not like you read book of Bible once then you never read again. Reading over books of Bible many times brings new things.

So also I think with looking again some of books of Bible have looked on Sundays. Like Song of Solomon. Why we calling this sermon series, Song of Solomon Remix!

So going back into this book, but shorter series, 3 sermons instead of 8 we did last year. And look at it from different angle. Last year, chapter by chapter. In this series looking over entire book, top level view. Each sermon, three themes that run throughout the book.

Let’s start with quick reminder about what this book of Bible is about. Song of Solomon is basically a poetic song, that tells story of man and woman, who want be with each other, waiting for time to be married, then getting married, then consummating that marriage and celebrating their union together.

Main thing Song of Solomon wants do for us in telling this story is get us understand what love feels like and should be like. Specifically, the kind of very good love that meant to exist in marriage.

So one big goal for us in Song of Solomon is to better realize this very good love within our marriages. To understand it, experience it, celebrate it.

But love story in Song of Solomon is also a window into a greater love. That all love stories between men and women are echoes of the ultimate love story, one of God pursuing and uniting with us, his people.

So even bigger goal is to better realize this very good love within our church. To understand, ...
