... continue this morning dealing with our core values, asking the question, what is important? What do we value as a church family? Why do we do things the way that we do?
If you follow along in your outline this morning, you see we're up to the fourth core value called, Authenticity, "A" for Authenticity. The scripture there is from Romans 12, verse 3, would you stand with me, and we'll read this together, and read it aloud, and read it enthusiastically. Romans 12, verse 3, "For by the grace given me, I say to everyone of you, Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought; but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you."
Let's pray together. "Lord, teach us something this morning, significant, about being real. Help us to understand more of the process of growing to be like Christ, in some significant way, in our lives, we ask this in the beautiful Name of Jesus Christ, amen, amen." Thank you, would you be seated.
Could you imagine getting on your knee before your bride, alright? I'm sure for all the men out there, it was something like this, wasn't it? You got down on one knee, and you took her hand, and you looked into her eyes, isn't this what it was like? Wasn't it like this? And you said, "Will you marry me?"
Now I know many of you guys, it was, your wife, your bride was down on her knee asking you to marry her, right? That's the way it happened? That wasn't it, huh, okay?
And then when she said yes, you took out a diamond ring, I mean a hunk, right? A megastone, and slid it on her finger, and you got up, joined hands, and embraced, and your lips met for the very first time, right? (laughter), right there in that moment.
