10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,'' says the Lord of hosts, ''if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.

As with salvation and forgiveness there is nothing complex about biblical giving. The only thing that is complex about giving is trying to understand why more believers aren't doing it. Where biblical giving is concerned there should be expectations on both sides. According to today's text God expects His people to be faithful in giving and we should expect Him to being faithful in blessing us.

Biblical giving takes at least two forms. There are both tithes and offerings. The tithe is 10% of our income. Any offering should be above that tithe. For instance, when we give to one of our missions offerings that offering should be above the 10% of our tithe. And, it's the tithe the Lord is referring to in this verse. This is where giving beings. While giving doesn't end with the tithe it certainly should start there.

God expects those that belong to Him to be tithers. No biblical truth in could be either clearer or simpler.

GOD'S SIMPLE REQUIREMENT OF TITHING

Who should tithe? The Lord is not referring to unbelievers in this verse. Only those that belong to Him are subject to the demands of Mal. 3:10.
